Frisco knew the task at hand was a difficult one. Highland Park proved as much in a convincing two-game sweep of the Raccoons in a Class 4A Region II bi-district series.

After coming from behind to catch the Raccoons and pull away for an 7-5 victory in the opening game Friday in Frisco, the Scots swung away in a 10-0 shutout Saturday at home.

HP's Seth Gardner hit a home run and a double to collect four RBIs to pace the six inning beat down. Evan Blakeley stifled the Frisco offense with a two-hit effort. Meanwhile, the Scots touched up Bryant Rutledge early and often. Six of the team's 14 hits went for extra bases.

On Friday, HP (28-8), which has now won 14 straight games, got a pair of doubles from both Joey Hainsfurther and Seth Gardner, and a triple from Dutch Crews to come from an early deficit to stall Frisco's bid at winning its first playoff game in five years. Dillon McDonald, Colin Graney and Tyler Sibley all recorded extra-base hits, but HP eventually figured out Landry Davis to mount the comeback.
